Youth Steam Engine Workshop & Demonstration

Join us for an exciting youth workshop to explore the history and science behind the steam engine – including a live demonstration of the Museum’s own Corliss Steam Engine. Under the guidance of our education and exhibits team, participants will build their own working steam engine model to take home! Pre-registration required
S.T.E.A.M. Into Spring Break: Youth Metal Melting & Shaping Workshop
National Museum of Industrial History 602 East Second Street, BethlehemThis unique mini workshop will add activities to the popular metal melting for kids events. Liquid tin will be poured into a mold, but after cooling and being removed from the mold, the tin will be run through a hand cranked rolling mill built over 130 years ago. Like a penny smashing machine, the rolling mill will lengthen the tin and provide a surface that names, initials, and/or designs can be stamped into.
