FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bethlehem, PA – The National Museum of Industrial History (NMIH) is pleased to unveil its Steel Today educational kiosk as the latest addition to its Iron & Steel Gallery, made possible through a matching funds challenge opportunity offered by the Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) Foundation.

NMIH, in affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution, is working to forge a connection between America’s industrial past and the innovations of today by inspiring the visionaries of tomorrow. NMIH sought the steel industry’s support to enhance the visitor experience in the Iron & Steel Gallery to include an interactive display educating visitors of all ages on the technology, innovation and advancements that exist in the steel industry today.

The interactive kiosk allows visitors to explore the modern steel industry, including technology, product, sustainability and career opportunities. “The American Steel industry is alive, thriving and continuing to innovate,” said Andria Zaia, President & CEO of NMIH. “We are privileged to share the modern steel story and particularly excited to utilize this enhancement with school children to spark interest in future career and academic pathways.”

The AIST Foundation matched the full pledge of $30,000 for a total donation of $70,950 to NMIH. Generous contributions were also made through grants from The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation and Air Products Foundation, the AIST Philadelphia Member Chapter, the Lehigh Valley Foundrymen’s Association and multiple corporate and individual donors. A list of contributors and more information is available on the Museum’s website.
