Bethlehem, PA – The National Museum of Industrial History has launched a capital campaign to expand onto the Museum’s previously undeveloped second floor and enhance exhibits on its first floor. The “Next Level: Raising Industrial History to New Heights” Capital Campaign seeks to raise $6 million dollars by the end of 2026.
Since opening its doors in 2016, NMIH has welcomed an ever-growing number of visitors along with hosting over thousands of students annually on field trips from schools across the region and beyond. Yet, the museum’s true potential remains untapped as countless invaluable artifacts lie in storage, and many compelling narratives—especially those rooted in the region’s rich industrial past—are still waiting to be shared. This expansion will add much-needed exhibit, programming and event space allowing for a more dynamic and interactive experience.
“At NMIH, we celebrate the legacy and ingenuity of America’s workers, innovators, and entrepreneurs by providing the tools to educate the public and inspire tomorrow’s inventors and achievers,” said NMIH Chair L. Charles Marcon “Our location, collection, and programs provide an unparalleled opportunity for exploring the grit and grandeur of American industry and the people, ideas, and machines that spark progress.”
“We are excited for this next phase in our ongoing growth and are so grateful for the generous support we have already received,” said NMIH President & CEO Andria Zaia. “We are dedicated to preserving our industrial heritage, educating tomorrow’s innovators, fostering civic pride, and contributing to community vitality.”
